Larimer Square and Something Independent are proud to present the Art of Winter gallery located in the Walkway on Larimer Square. Something Independent, an initiative promoting the industry and culture of snow sports in Colorado, has created a unique exhibit featuring a collaboration of both local art and artwork from today’s top ski and snowboard boutiques. Each piece is made from recycled skis and snowboards, provided by SnowSports Industries America (SIA). The artwork will be displayed through Feb. 13.
Larimer Square will also be hosting its first ever First Friday Party on Friday, Feb. 4 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Walkway gallery. Join us for complimentary beverages and appetizers, and enter to win a Larimer Square gift certificate (winner must be present during the 6 p.m. drawing). Below is the list of shops on the Square offering art lovers special discounts that night.
These works of art are also displayed in an online gallery at www.somethingindependent.com. Each ski and board is also available for sale via an online auction. Proceeds from the auction benefit the Larimer Arts Association and help to fund the Something Independent Entrepreneur Award that goes to a Colorado-based, early stage company with a connection to the snowsports industry.
