WINTER PARK, Colo. – Thanks to 63” of snow so far this month, the most to accumulate in November since 2005, Winter Park Resort will be opening a total of 284 acres of additional terrain in time for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, including top-to-bottom riding from The Lodge at Sunspot on Wednesday and the iconic Mary Jane Territory on Friday, November 28.
The perfect way to work off any Thanksgiving overindulgences, Mary Jane will open on Friday for her 39th season with a ceremonial first chair on the Super Gauge Express at 8:30 a.m. There will be 147 acres open for skiing and riding including Mary Jane Trail, Drunken Frenchman, and Lower Arrowhead Loop, among others. In addition to the Super Gauge, the Pony Express, Iron Horse, Hi-Lonesome Express, and Galloping Goose lifts will all be in operation.
Friday will also be the first time the public will be allowed to view the new Lunch Rock Restaurant up close and be able to utilize its restrooms. However, the restaurant will not be open for food service until early December.
To get the legs ready for Mary Jane, Winter Park Resort will also be opening 137 acres of new terrain this Wednesday, November 26 in the Winter Park Territory, including top-to-bottom skiing from The Lodge at Sunspot on Cranmer, as well as White Rabbit, and March Hare, among others. Available lifts will include the Zephyr, Olympia, Eskimo, and Looking Glass.
The Terrain Park Territory will also be open Wednesday with sections of Re-Railer Terrain Park available to skiers/riders.
