VAIL, Colo. – Nov. 21, 2014 – Vail Mountain, one of the largest ski resorts in the world, opened for the 2014-2015 winter season today with more than 500 acres of terrain available to snowboarders, and access from Vail Village and Lionshead.
Early season is a fantastic time to visit Vail, and with more than three feet of snowfall last week, recent cold temperatures for snowmaking and more snow in the forecast, the mountain is in great shape and the resort anticipates opening up more terrain soon. In addition to great conditions, early season also offers the benefits of smaller crowds and more of the mountain to yourself!
Kick-Off Winter with Snow, Après, and Free Concerts at Vail Snow Daze Dec. 12-14 & 19-21
Early season also brings the resort’s signature event – Snow Daze! Not long after the annual start of the ski and snowboard season, Snow Daze, offers visitors the ultimate winter kick-off party. Spend the day on the mountain, après at parties throughout the village, and wrap up the night with free concerts! This year’s lineup features live entertainment from Lukas Nelson & P.O.T.R., The Wallflowers, 10,000 Maniacs and Rusted Root. For more information, visit www.vail.com/snowdaze.
