How many rail jams have you won at Snowmass?
How come all of the older guys mention your name when talking about awesome Aspen snowboarders?
That's a flattering question. Thanks fellas. All I know is I just try to keep things unique and smooth. The crew you ride with has constant influence on you as a rider, and that interactive aspect of it is what keeps me coming back every single day.
Who do you look up to in the Colorado snowboard scene?
I look up to my homies! It's all about sharing the experience. These kids all have such a unique take on shredding and it gives our sessions some good progressive energy. A park day here pops off so hard for the ten kids that are lucky enough to be here - these kids blow my mind every lap. The OGs in the valley definitely lead by example; Eli, Doran, Travis, John, Justin, Zach, Zach - all those guys have a great outlook on snowboarding. Also, shouts out to Tony DiBacco for coming back strong after the injury!
What does it mean to live the Stoyach lifestyle?
Don't be a sheep. Do it the way you want. Make it feel good for yourself. Odds are you won't be a human that can ride a snowboard in your next life so make it count.
How long have you been working on your mustache?
All winter? It doesn't matter, it will probably always be sketchy. Gotta have something for the cold though!
What's the secret to the perfect dab?
Low temp and good company. A coffee or Dale's Pale Ale on the side.
Why do you like "American" brand cigarettes?
Don't smoke, kids.
Powder or rails?
If snow is flying, rails are a no go. Any chance we get, we squad up and go fast through some deep stuff. That's the true practice, the true flow, and the true style. Pow makes you good.
Minnesota or Colorado?
Minnesota is so hardcore to grow up learning to snowboard; go to the the ice hill and hit some scary ass rails or go find something to snowboard on. I owe my jibbing to the tow rope though. Maybe resorts around here will figure that one out some day. Colorado opened me up to an all-encompassing view on snowboarding for sure. Hopefully it brings me around the world one day.
Favorite snowboard video of all time?
This question is the reason it took me a week to get back to you. Videograss last year (The Last Ones) is my favorite probably. Specifically Bradshaw's part. Hardest crew in the game if you ask me, and a huge inspiration. And Bode's part this year in Absinthe was straight f***ed!
Best Aspen park?
Snowmass takes the cake this year. Shouts out to all of the people working both parks (you know who you are) - I really appreciate you guys putting in so much work and taking feedback from us.
Hippie jewelry or hippie tie dye?
Hippie jewelry made of glass.
