ASPEN SNOWMASS, Colo.—Nov. 11, 2014—With three to six inches of new snowfall at Aspen Snowmass last night, and strong snowmaking operations across Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands and Snowmass, winter is here and the teams across all of the mountains are gearing up for another ski and ride season. Snowmaking at Buttermilk is scheduled to begin Nov. 15 and more snowfall is in the forecast for the rest of the week. Aspen Mountain and Snowmass will open Nov. 27 followed by Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk Dec. 13.
“In the past week we’ve had solid snowmaking production on three of the four hills. This week’s forecast looks favorable for both cold temperatures and natural snowfall and we hope to have several days of round the clock snowmaking” states Rich Burkley, Vice President of Mountain Operations for Aspen Skiing Company.
