Eight of the world's best urban snowboarders submitted 60-second video parts, vying for a shot at $50,000 and Winter X gold. Yesterday marked the end of Round 1 and today marks the beginning of Round 2.
Dan Brisse easily edged out Nic Sauve due to Nic's injury he suffered while shooting for his Real Snow 2012 part. Brisse won with 79% of the vote. Jed Anderson's natural style wasn't enough to match up against Pat Moore's heavy hitting part, which got him 63% of that vote. The other two brackets were a bit closer, but in the end Halldor Helgason (54%) beat Scott Stevens (46%), and Louis-Felix Paradis was able to knock out Bode Merill despite Bode's bag-full-o-bangers. Looks like Louis's wallride to down rail section gave him that extra edge.
WX medals will be awarded by a panel of judges. Winner of the Fan Favorite -- voted on by YOU in the bracket found on ESPN.com -- will also receive a $50,000 cash prize. The Fan Favorite will be announced during the live telecast of the WX Games on Jan. 29.
