Two Colorado resorts open tomorrow, November 21: Eldora, and Vail. Read on for more opening day details.
Eldora's lifts start spinning at at 9:00 AM, with a total of eight lifts open on opening day. Little Hawk Mountain, beginner lifts and trails are open for beginners; Challenge Mountain, with Cannonball/Challenge lifts for intermediate and advanced riders with good cover on several trails will be open. Lift tickets are $69 for ages 16-64, and $49 for anyone younger than 16 or older than 64. 5 and under tickets are just $12.
Vail will also open at 9:00 AM with breakfast burritos and hot cocoa at both base areas for early risers as supplies last. The Red Bull DJ truck will be at the base of Gondola One in Vail Village to provide music throughout the morning. Snowboarders will have access to the following lifts and 540 acres of terrain in these areas: Gondola One, Avanti Express Lift (#2), Wildwood Express Lift (#3), Mountain Top Express Lift (#4), Born Free Express Lift (#8), Little Eagle Lift (#15), Eagle Bahn Gondola. There will be a small terrain park on Born Free with nine features, including eight boxes and rails and one small jump. Beginner terrain will be offered at the top of the Eagle Bahn Gondola via the Little Eagle Lift (#15).
