Dew Tour is back in Breckenridge for the 9th year, and the new format is sure to make things interesting! The festivities run from Thursday, December 8th through Sunday, December 11th.
The competition includes a two part slopestyle and jibs course, as well as, a team challenge. The new slopestyle format includes a standalone course to highlight jib technicality and execution before combining with separate jump runs to determine the rider's final scores.
Here are some shots of the new jib section:
The new team challenge will include top riders from Burton, DC, Lib Tech, Nitro, Ride, and Salomon. Each team will have two riders representing them, who battle it out to see who has the best jibber and jumper on a two part slopestyle course featuring a big air jump and four rail zones. This new format was created to showcase style, creativity, and diverse tricks while seeing who has the strongest team. Some of the featured riders in the team challenge include: Torstein Horgmo, Mark McMorris, Jesse Paul, Brandon Davis, Darcy Sharpe, Jordan Morse and more! Other top riders you can expect to see this weekend include: Jamie Anderson, Chas Guldemond, Danny Davis, Max Perrot, and plenty more heavy hitters.
Also competing in this year's Dew Tour is Summit County local Red Gerard, who was a stand out at the 2016 Peace Park, also presented by Mountain Dew. He will be one of the youngest competitors, if not the youngest, but will bring it in front of the hometown crowd. This is definitely going to be an extremely rowdy weekend in Breckenridge, as usual, so tighten up those drinking boots reeeaaalllll tight.
