Copper Mountain officially opened for the 2016/17 season when the American Eagle lift started running at 9am on Friday morning!
With 6 inches of fresh snow to start the season, winter has officially arrived at Copper Mountain. Skiers and snowboarders celebrated the start of the 2016/17 season today with the American Eagle chairlift opening to the public at 9 a.m. Open terrain includes Rhapsody and Main Vein via the American Eagle lift, as well as Ptarmigan via the Excelerator lift.
In conjunction with Opening Day, Copper is welcoming its passholders and guests back in style with Welcome Home Weekend, Nov. 18 - 20. This event includes three days of free live music, food, drinks and games for all ages in Après Alley. Après Alley is a new area located in Copper’s Center Village that is set to include giant shuffleboard, ping-pong tables and various other games all season long.
The Woodward Park crew had a great setup for riders as well, with 7 features in their early season Eagle Jib Park! This was getting tons of attention all day, just like every opening weekend, from so many talented riders. It's always fun to watch everyone having a great time and throwing down so hard, so early in the year.
