With 9 inches of new snow that fell last weekend, it was an awesome snow day at Copper Mountain. Unfortunately, the entire resort including the chair-lifts lost power from its service provider mid-day. The Copper team reacted as quickly as possible in effort to switch all lifts to auxiliary power. With guest and employee safety as the top priority, Copper successfully unloaded all lifts with the exception of a few chairs that needed patrol assistance. By mid-afternoon, the operations team was able to open the Eagle, Flyer and Timberline Express lifts to the public. By late afternoon, power was restored and 12 lifts were operating.
