Cody Boan rallied out to Mammoth last weekend just in time to get in on the Eddie Wall Ride Invitational. The contest rounded out one hell of a Memorial Day weekend that was the West Coast Invitational and Cody ripped his way into third place. Our web intern Bailey Mesch caught up with Cody for a handful of quick questions on the trip and his summer plans.
BM: Tell me about your weekend in Mammoth.
CB: I got invited at the last minute. Eddie Wall called me up and invited me and I got a ride out there. We headed out there on Wednesday - four days early. Mammoth hooked me up with tickets to ride the park for a couple days. Sunday was the contest and I got third.
BM: How do you feel about placing?
CB: I'm really stoked about getting third. There were a lot of really good riders. I was stoked I learned some new tricks. I did a handplant on the wall and a front flip on the wall for the first time ever, so that was cool.
BM: You've done this contest before right?
CB: Yeah. I did it two years ago and got best trick but that was the first time I did it.
BM: How much more snowboarding will you be doing this summer?
CB: I'm gonna go to Hood for a week or two and camp.
BM: Any other plans this summer?
CB: I might be going to New Zealand for some time in August. I have some buddies who do the tour that live around me, so we'll see.
BM: What's your plan for riding next year?
CB: Just gonna line up a bunch of contests, like big mountain contests and rail jams. Gotta figure it out and travel around and do a bunch of backcountry stuff. I have this spot in Tahoe so I might head out that way.
