Despite his abhorrence for the Broncos, Chris Grenier is actually a really funny and really nice guy. He spent a week at summer camp at Copper Mountain and was definitely a favorite among the campers. Chris spent the week snowboarding, skateboarding, playing mini golf, bumper boating, and other fun summer shenanigans. Between all the fun and games I was able to grab Chris and ask him a few questions.

How was your winter?
Stayed healthy, so it was good. If you’re on two feet at the end of the year that’s a good winter, as far as I’m concerned. Rode more powder than I’ve ever ridden, so that’s good.
Are you going to have a part in Videograss?
I am having a part in Videograss.
Who were you out in the backcountry with this winter?
Danimals came and stayed with me for a while in Salt Lake, luckily there was snow there, so we stayed there. But I filmed mainly with Bjorn Leines and Aaron Biittner, those guys are really good.
I hear you’re a bit of a sledneck?
Yeah, I like snowmobiling. It’s kind of like riding dirt bikes and stuff so it’s an easy little transition. And it’s on snow, so when you fall off it doesn’t hurt as bad.
What’re you doing this summer?
Summer…I got like a little welding shop in my garage and have been building a bunch of furniture for people, and then I’ve also just been skating, riding bikes, snowboarding at Hood a couple times, and camping a bunch. That’s about it.
What kind of furniture do you build?
I build like coffee tables, sofa tables, bed frames… all with steel tubing and reclaimed wood. It’s pretty crazy, my first client was a pro golfer, Jim Furyk. I built him tables and delivered them to his house. It’s pretty sick ‘cause he saw me at this arts festival and I gave him a business card. Then he commissioned me to build two tables and that was pretty badass.
Who is the worst person in Videograss to sit next to in a van?
If they’re sleeping, Joe. Joe snores like a motherfucker, so does Sam. Joe is like a pig, his shit is everywhere. Jake OE is just full of shit all the time, so that’s about it.
Go on any good trips?
Yeah, we did… Where did I go this winter? It feels like so long ago. I filmed in Quebec with the Déjà Vu guys in the beginning of the year. And then did a Massachusetts trip, I have a contest out there at Wachusett called Holiday Hammers right around Christmas, the kids psyched. Where else did I go? I’m going brain dead here…Mainly filmed in the Utah backcountry.
Plans for next winter?
Next winter they’re doing a ThirtyTwo movie, it’s called Twenty Thirty Two as of right now, and it’s just the whole ThirtyTwo team. So I’m excited to film with Frank and Joe and all the boys. Scotty Stevens will be in there, and I think JP’s 20th video part, so it should be good.
Do you have your own Thirty Two boot this year?
I do have a boot, it’s the first time doing a boa, it’s like an inner bladder boa system, I like it. Patriots colors, probably won’t do too well in Denver here….
Speaking of which, what did you do for the Super Bowl?
Who was in that? The Seahawks and the Broncos? I didn’t give a shit, as long as the Broncos didn’t win I was happy. But my boy Wes Welker out here, looked better in a Patriots jersey....
