The U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix is back in Copper this week, and you can catch the finals on Friday, December 16th and Saturday, December 17th!

Top riders from around the world will go head-to-head at Copper Mountain at the 2017 U.S. Grand Prix, Dec. 11 - 17. Snowboarders will take to the Main Vein Superpipe this week and will also be competing in a big air competition, a new Olympic discipline, as part of the United States Olympic Committee’s (USOC) Winter Champions Series.

These events are FIS World Cup and TTR World Snowboard Tour International level competitions. The TTR World Snowboard Tour serve as global rider ranking systems based off of top-level events and crowns world champions. 

NBC will feature live coverage of the competition on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 2:30 p.m. ESTplus additional coverage on Sunday, Dec. 18 from 2 – 4 p.m. EST.    

New this season, the USOC is joining in on the U.S. Grand Prix weekend with a big air snowboarding event, one of three Olympic sports to be showcased as part of Team USA’s Winter Champions Series. The Winter Champions Series is set to be broadcasted live on NBC on Saturday, Dec. 17. This broadcast serves as the official kick off to the Road to PyeongChang.

The U.S. Grand Prix begins on Wednesday, Dec. 14 with qualifiers and continues through the weekend with snowboard halfpipe finals on Friday, Dec. 16 and big air snowboarding finals on Saturday, Dec. 17. Guests can check out all the action free of charge at the base of the Main Vein Superpipe or within Burning Stones Plaza, both located in Copper’s Center Village.

Burning Stones Plaza in Copper’s Center Village transforms into the U.S. Grand Prix Vendor Village on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m.  - 4 p.m. Brands such as Paul Mitchell and USSA will be on site to interact with guests. Visitors are also encouraged to visit Copper’s Après Alley on Saturday, Dec. 17. Located next to Burning Stones Plaza, this outdoor space provides a variety of life-size lawn games, fire pits and free live music.
