The final episode of BYND x MDLS of the season is an absolute banger. Watch what Kevin Backstrom and Tor Lundstrom got up to in Laax, Switzerland and Livigno, Italy to round out their winters.
The dudes spent sometime in Europe this winter and got to ride Laax! Thanks to James Niederberger and homies for showing us around! Featuring Jed Anderson, Terje Haakonsen, James Niederberger, Danimals, Severin Van Der Meer, and Sam Taxwood!
Frustrated by crappy conditions in North America, Pat Moore sets his sights on Europe and books a flight to Switzerland for his first-ever European Pow filming trip. He arrives in the Alps to find fresh powder and an all-star crew to shred with: Jake Welch, John Jackson, Nicolas Müller, & Jake Blauvelt. The group vibe is pure stoke as the boys take full advantage of a bluebird powder day and Switzerland's feature-filled natural terrain. For this episode, Pat has travelled far outside his filming comfort zone of North America & quickly tunes into the European approach, riding & filming on lift-access resort terrain and maximizing his time spent strapped in. As always, the take-awy from this travel piece is simple: keep exploring. You'll never know ’til you go.
For this episode, Pat was busy with prior obligations in Jackson. In his absence, he turned the controls over to Jake Welch who joined up with John Jackson for a trip to Europe. This year is Jackson’s first season back after two winters sidelined by injuries. Definitely a redemption year for the former award-winning, standard-setting freestyle powerhouse. John shares thoughts on his mental & physical recovery as he & Jake hunt for powder in Switzerland with Kurt Heine, one of snowboarding’s most experienced filmmakers. John J is hyped to be back on snow and feeling strong so the crew turns lemons into lemonade and laugh their way through tough snow conditions as John bags his first airtime in years.
