January 25, 2012

Celebrities attending the 2012 Sundance Film Festival got a lesson in snowboarding from the pros at the Oakley Learn to Ride Powered by AT&T. As one of the most coveted invitations at Sundance, professional snowboarders Danny Kass, Lauren Perkins, The Dingo and Erica Hosseini were paired with celebrities to show them the ins and outs of shredding like a pro.  After hitting the slopes and getting a solid workout in the snow,  boarders were able to refuel by enjoying a protein-packed Muscle Milk.  Plenty of celebs visited the Oakley event and chatted all things snow including  X Games host and action sports junkie Sal Masekela, rapper Lil Jon,  True Blood's Ryan Kwanten, musician Cisco Adler, TV host Mario Lopez, Jamie Chung, Anne Heche, Aaron Paul, Laura Prepon, Andie McDowell and others.

After drinking a Muscle Milk in the lounge area for some pre-ride protein, Masekela was joined on the slopes by pro snowboarding pals Danny Kass and The Dingo.  "Actors have always wanted to be athletes and athletes have always wanted to be actors.  There's a big mutual admiration in society, and Sundance is the perfect place to test that and put it together," said Masekela. "I see Danny Kass and Lil Jon, and you would think that they grew up in the same hood.  That's how close they've gotten through snowboarding."

Lil Jon and fellow musician Cisco Adler downed Muscle Milk and then hit the slopes together to show off their shredding skills.

Actor Justin Long took a break from movie premieres and took his first ever lesson with pro Lauren Perkins where he ending up shredding and joking with the Oakley pros during a 5-hour long session.  After spending the day on the mountain, Long later refueled with Muscle Milk Cookies and Cream and was excited to find out his "dessert-tasting" drink was actually good for him. (Packed with 25 grams of protein, 20 vitamins and minerals and is lactose and gluten-free, so makes a perfect snack before or after a shredding session.)

Sponsors included Continental Tires who gifted celebs with thousands in tires, AT&T who introduced guests to their new Tablet and provided awesome personalized footage of rides using their Go Pros, Muscle Milk who re-energized riders after taking on the mountain and DC shoes who provided boots for everyone to rock down the slopes.
